Add friends old and new, a generous helping of creative spunk, plus a splash of creek water and you have Kerbow¿s Cottage. The cottage takes its name from long-time Wimberley resident, post master, and historian Dorothy Wimberley Kerbow, who was a frequent visitor to the Lodge property in the 1940s and 1950s when it was owned by Hiawatha Crossland. Crossland, Kerbow, and several other friends from Austin, New Braunfels, and points further afield converted an old stone chicken shed into a bunk house so they could all spend the night. They affectionately called their creation, ¿the roost¿ and Kerbow later stated in an article in the Wimberley View that The Roost was quite possibly Wimberley¿s first B&B. The friends were fond of good food, cold drinks and games of poker played on a card table set up in the middle of Cypress Creek. And while the swimsuit-wearing poker players are no longer with us, nor is The Roost, the spirit of both the building and the friends live on in Kerbow Cottage.

Kerbow Cottage features Fachwerk stucco exterior with hand-milled cedar beams seamlessly combined with a new board and batten addition, shaded front porch with antique newel posts, stained concrete floors throughout for easy cleaning, vaulted ceiling in the main living area and bedroom, River White granite countertops and custom cabinets, cedar trim adds ambiance to the room, and unique stones add character to the wood burning fireplace, and Spa bath with whirlpool tub, separate shower, custom cabinetry with granite countertops and marble mosaic backsplash. Kerbow Cottage includes a common area of lush landscaping and access to 259 feet along Cypress Creek. Whether you are looking for a weekend getaway or to simplify your life you will want to check out Kerbow Cottage. Located within walking distance to downtown.
